The 52 Project “Taking Refuge in…”
I’m part of a group show running from Feb 2nd 2023 through April 30th 2023. The seven pieces that comprise my contribution were planned and constructed during my 10 months as caretaker and “artist in residence” at Cathy Allen’s Sunvale Village. This 10 acre interactive outdoor desert installation used found objects to create a world in support of all things small. A month following the end of my residency, the property owner chose to discontinue management of the space. As of this writing, the status of Sunvale Village, as well as the residents of Sunvale Village, is unknown.
I’ve been a member of this art collective since 2015 and I am grateful to Riverside Art Museum for investing in the program and providing space for creative people to meet other like minded people. Sometimes we event finish projects and share them with each other. I encourage you to find creative spaces as well to express yourself and enjoy the company of others (for a few hours!!).
Show is open during regular Riverside Art Museum hours of operation.
